Community Hearing on Proposal to rescind the Roadless Area Conservation Rule

Location: UUC - 274 Pleasant St., Concord, NH

The National Roadless Rule established in 2001 protects 45,000,000 acres of National Forest including 240,000 acres of the 800,000 acre White Mountain National Forest by prohibiting road construction and timber harvest in the protected areas.

All of us rely on our public lands to recreate, hunt, fish, hike and thrive. We assume our public lands will be passed on to future generations to do the same. But our public lands are at risk.

The Forest Service has a proposal to end the Roadless Rule this year. That is 240,000 protected acres here in NH. We can’t let this happen! Please show up for your forests with your stories and experiences, friends and family, for today and the future. Together.

This is your chance to hear from local speakers and for you to participate in the discussion.

Information will be provided for submitting comments to the forest service.

This event is in partnership with Sierra Club NH, National Parks Conservation Association, Standing Trees, and Appalachian Mountain Club NH.
